Microsoft Word Training Courses

Word Introduction

These courses are designed for those who have very little experience of using word processing applications. Many hints and tips will be provided and delegates will learn about how to customise the Word window by displaying frequently used buttons.

During the day, delegates will study how to set up page margins, create a document and the various ways of selecting and manipulating text.

Using the pre-defined spelling options and how to add individual incorrectly spelt words to the in-built dictionary will be looked at.

It is anticipated that those attending will have basic keyboard/mouse skills; however, if required, an overview of these aspects can be delivered.

Word Intermediate

Word Intermediate courses deal with working on more complex documents. Delegates will learn how to develop, format and use tables. Templates for frequently used documents will be created and Styles will be applied to give a consistent look to headings and text throughout larger documents.

Delegates will learn how to use Breaks in order, for instance, to place a landscape page in the middle of a portrait document or how to split a page into different sections.

Word Intermediate is for those people who need to make better use of the features of this word processing application.

Word Advanced

Development of very large documents such as procedures, novels, reports, leases, etc., is the principle behind Amethyst’s Word Advanced courses.

Indexing, tables of contents, cross-referencing and footnotes will all be dealt with, as will working with an outline document in order to set up “legal numbering” formats.

Word Advanced courses are primarily for those who regularly work on and manipulate very large documents, although the principles learned can be applied in many areas.
